In a story that would have been a little surprising two months ago but isn't now, Tiger Woods will return at the first major of the year, the Masters, in less than a month's time.
Many thought he would return at the Arnaud Palmer Invitation, but that wasn't the case.
Update: Now here's my thoughts on this summed up in two words.......Big mistake.
With how great a golfer he is, and how motivated he will be to return to the golf course, it wouldn't shock me if he came back and won the tournament straight out.
But history and common sense make that a seemingly improbably feat. Woods has never played well after a long layoff, which isn't shocking at all for any golfer considering how it isn't easy getting all the technical strokes back in just one tournament.
To me, this signals how Woods is so aware of his public perception that he believes the comfort of Augusta will provide a place where he will hear no denunciation. And that is already a troubling sign for me in his comeback.
Then again, he can prove all the skeptics wrong by somehow returning to the extraordinary form that has made him the figure he is today, on the golf course that is.
